Samkhya and Yoga :: Theoretical and Experimental physics

सांख्य  व योग :: सैद्धांतिक व प्रायोगिक भौतिकी

Relation between sankhya philosophy and yoga is very close. Actually, yoga is based on sankhya philosophy. The philosophy is Sankhya. The practice is 'yog'.You can understand this by illustration of theoretical physics and experimental physics. As experimental and theoretical physics progress hand in hand so is here. Sankhya is the theoretical science. Yoga is the experimental one. Sankhyins are the theorist. Yogins are the experimentalist. Sankhya is the thought. Yoga is the act. Sankya is wisdom, yoga is life.

(योग व सांख्य एक ही दर्शन के दो पहलू हैं !  दरअसल, योग सांख्य दर्शन पर आधारित है. दर्शन सांख्य है. अभ्यास 'योग' | आप, सैद्धांतिक भौतिकी और प्रायोगिक भौतिकी के चित्रण से, इस बात को समझ सकते हो |  सांख्य सैद्धांतिक विज्ञान है. योगा प्रयोगात्मक विज्ञान है | संख्यिन्स विचारक हैं | योगिन्स प्रयोगवादी हैं | सांख्य सोच  है |  योग कार्य है | सांख्य  ज्ञान है | योग जीवन  है | )

As the theoretical hypothesis of physics has no meaning unless verified experimentally, similarly, the tenets of sankhya have to withstand yogic tests and results. Both have progressed hand in hand.

Both are very ancient systems and pillars of ancient Indian thinking. There origins can be traced as old as 5,000 of years - one of the oldest sciences of the world. 

(जैसे, भौतिकी कि  सैद्धांतिक परिकल्पना का कोई मतलब नहीं है जब तक कि  वह  प्रयोग से  सत्यापित न हो जाय , इसी तरह, सांख्य  के सिद्धांतों को योग के परीक्षण और परिणामों से सत्यापित होना अनिवार्य है | दोनों का विकास परस्पर आश्रित है | 

दोनों ही बहुत प्राचीन प्रणाली और भारतीय वैज्ञानिक सोच के  प्राचीन स्तम्भ  हैं|)

Lord Krishna himself describes them as one only:

Only matures see yoga and sankhya as separate, but in reality they are one and the same only. 

Meaning of Yoga !!! How ancient is yoga?

Actual Sanskrit word is 'Yog'. 'Yog' means unison or to be one with.  E.g, Karm-yog means unison with karma or action; Gyan-yoga is unison with gyan or discretion; Bhakti-yoga is unison with Bhakti. All above terms are incomplete layman's version of yoga.

(योगा '' संस्कृत शब्द 'योग' से आता है | 'योग'  का मतलब है 'एक्य' या एक होना | जैसे कि, कर्म-योग का मतलब है:  कर्म के साथ 'एक्य' या 'कर्म ही जीवन हो जाय'| 'ज्ञान-योग' ज्ञान या विवेक के साथ 'एक्य' / 'जीवन ही हो विवेक', भक्ति-योग भक्ति के साथ 'एक्य'. l  लेकिन हम जानना चाहते हैं  विशुद्ध योग-विज्ञान !!!  ) 

'Yoga', without any prefix, represents the fifth school of the six philosophical systems of India. It is a unique scientific discovery by the sages of ancient India. Later, it was compiled by rishi Patanjali in his famous 'Yog-Sutras'. Thesix schools of thought are Nyaya (logic), Vaisheshika (elementary particle physics), Mimansa (right conduct), shankhya (cause and effect), yoga (fusion) and vedanta (the conclusion).
(किसी भी उपसर्ग के बिना, 'योग' भारत के छह दार्शनिक प्रणालियों के पांचवें स्कूल का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है. यह प्राचीन भारत के संतों द्वारा एकअनूठी वैज्ञानिक खोज है. बाद में, यह ऋषि पतंजलि ने अपने प्रसिद्ध 'योगसूत्र' में संकलित किया |) छ: प्राचीन भारतीय दार्शनिक मत हैं - न्याय, वेशाषिक, मीमांसा, सांख्य, योग एवं वेदांत !)

Carvings of yoga postures  have been discovered as ancient as 3000 to 5000 years old. Thus, shankhya and yoga are one of the most ancient human science. Even older than Grammer and Mathematics.
